The Project
Director for ArtWorks is Susanne Burns.
Susanne is a
practicing management consultant within the cultural sector with
over 25 years of senior management and leadership
experience. A former Director of Business Development at
the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and Development Director at FACT,
she now works both regionally and nationally carrying out
evaluation and research programmes as well as organisational
development consultancy.
Most recently, she
completed a large-scale dance sector mapping research project for
Arts Council England; acted as Project Evaluator for Youth Dance
England on a major national development project funded by ACE and
the Department for Culture Media and Sport (DCMS); and is leading
the evaluation of In Harmony Liverpool for the Royal Liverpool
Philharmonic. Susanne is also advising Canada Council on a dance
mapping exercise to take place across Canada. She is a Lead
Adviser for the Cultural Leadership Programme and recently co
edited A Cultural Leadership Reader with Katie Venner and
Sue Kay. She teaches at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and
Drama and Napier University. Susanne is an Associate of the
Institute of Cultural Capital, a joint venture of the University of
Liverpool and Liverpool John Moores University.
