Who:
A range of partners have been involved in developing the initiative including Creative Scotland, Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, The National Theatre of Scotland, The Scottish Book Trust and Glasgow School of Art.
What:
This is a national strategic approach to creating relevant and high-quality skills development opportunities for artists working in participatory settings across all artforms. Over three years, starting in June 2011, ArtWorks Scotland aims to establish online information, identify gaps in course provision and run a series of masterclasses and networking events for artists at all levels of their careers. The programme of activity will increase knowledge exchange and 'connectivity', generate a 'community of practice', and build a common understanding of quality for practice in participatory settings.
The proposed programme includes:
- Information Portals
- Peer-to-peer learning networks.
- Research
- Development of Undergraduate provision
- Course development
- A programme of events including annual networking events, artform-specific masterclasses and knowledge exchange in various locations across Scotland.
How:
The project is planned in 2 phases
- 2011: Start up, research & establishment of networks
- 2012-14: Implementation of programme.
